I saw the chiropractor (Dr. Taylor) yesterday. Yes, I have a pulled/strained hamstring. It’s one of the deeper hamstring muscles (bicep – something Latin). She worked it pretty good, I’ll be back next Monday for some more treatment. She remarked that my right leg in particular is pretty tight. She’s thinking it’s all the tightness around the hamstring that is causing it to be strained. The good news was that she said I could run easy on it. My therapy is icing it a every couple of hours. A couple of stretching exercises, and easy running.
I got up early today and celebrated July 4. I kept the running very easy at a 9:40 pace. I could feel the hamstring, but at least the pain was not acute. I was able to complete an easy 6 mile run. Putting everything in perspective, my pain is nothing compared to the pain our forefathers bored when fighting for this country’s independence.
