I got in a very nice long run today. I was worried that the hamstring was going to hold me back. But, it seemed like the pain really was way day today. I averaged for the first ten miles at a very nice pace of 8:50 min/mile. I finished the last two at a 9 min/mile pace. I felt like I could have pushed a little harder, but there is no need for that on a long run. I skipped the group run this morning. I felt that running alone was better for me.
It’s nice to be back in heaven again! I’m going to stick with my plan of no hard runs (no hills, no tempos, no intervals) until at least July 15. My injuries seem to tie back to the tempo run. I need to revisit that run and see what I am doing wrong.
