X-Country

After some easy runs last week, I finished off the week running in a cross-country relay race.  The race takes place in downtown Houston along Buffalo Bayou.  Although it’s only a 2 mile leg, it’s a tough one to run.  Lots of ups and downs and the the footing in the grass with tree roots [...]

I ran the Club’s predict your time 5K yesterday.  I was a little fast, but I still managed 7th overall.  Right after the race, a few of us  headed out for another 8+ miles.  With the warm-up, I put in a little over 12 miles.  It was a good day for running.
Today was 15 miles [...]

A repeat race for me.  I’m not sure why, but I’m actually disappointed.  Once again, Karma was working against me.  The race is one of the fun ones left in the area.  The race is easy to get to, the crowds are small, and the after race refreshments are top notch.  Unfortunately, I had to [...]

I use the word awesome way too much.  But, today’s race was awesome!!! I ran in the Gulf Coast Running Club’s 5K Turkey Trot.  It was a low key race.  However, it was still a race.  For me, it was my last chance this year of trying to run a sub 22 minute 5K.  And, [...]

Mission Accomplished

No complaints about this race.  Well, maybe just one, I had to pee at mile 2, which cost me 30- 45 seconds.  However, I was impressed with my pace throughout the race and with my finishing time.  With the marathon in Waco coming up in a couple of weeks, I did not want to push [...]
